Jimmy Greco
A Maestro of Modern Music and Media
A New York native, Jimmy Greco is a highly accomplished and Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, remixer, and a seasoned professional in video production, directing, and editing. His extensive career boasts credits on over 100 million records sold for global superstars including Carlos Santana, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Train.
Greco's diverse musical background, steeped in the vibrant genres of his New York upbringing—from classic rock and pop to rap and dance—forged his eclectic sonic palette. His journey into music production began exceptionally early; by the age of 10, he was already writing and producing. At 16, in 1988, he signed his first major record deal with Fever/Sutra Records as the DJ for the hip-hop group "Three Most Wanted," touring extensively across the U.S.
His talents in songwriting and production gained significant recognition when he secured a worldwide co-publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music (1997-2001), initiating a prolific period of chart-topping success. This era included his first #1 record, Jerry Rivera's "Quiero," which dominated Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks for six consecutive weeks and earned a "Premio Lo Nuestro's Song of the Year" nomination in 2001.
Greco's impact continued with a 2002 Grammy Award nomination for "Best Salsa Album of the Year" as co-writer and producer for Frankie Negron's "Por Tu Placer." He also co-wrote and produced "Si Ya Se Acabo" for Jennifer Lopez's multi-platinum "J.Lo" album (over 6 million units sold worldwide) and the "J to the L-O!" Remix album (2 million international sales). In 2003, his collaboration with Carlos Santana on "Come to My World" appeared on the "Game of Love" single and Santana's "Ceremony: Remixes and Rarities."
Another significant achievement in 2003 saw Greco co-write "Seduceme" for artist India, which held the #1 spot on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks for three weeks, contributing to the Platinum-certified "Latin Song Bird" album, the #1 selling salsa album on Billboard for nine weeks. The English version, "Seduce Me Now," peaked at #2 on Billboard's Club Chart. That same year, he received a Grammy Nomination as the composer for "Seduceme" in the "Tropical Song of the Year" category.
In 2004, Greco founded Airgo Entertainment, which evolved into Soul Azul Media in 2019. This venture embodies his vision for a modern record label and artist services company, offering comprehensive solutions including artist development, music and video production, digital distribution, publishing, and marketing.
Demonstrating his versatility, in 2008, he co-founded the remix-production team "SMASH MODE" with DJ Suraci, remixing tracks for top artists like Paramore, Beyoncé, and Miley Cyrus.
A notable project in 2016 involved writing and producing the theme song for NBC's Thursday Night Football, which premiered in November of that year.
More recently, August 2023 marked a new chapter as Jimmy launched informative video content, including "How To Make Beats" and "5 Beats in 5 Minutes," alongside custom samples available for sale on jimmygreco.com.
Looking ahead to 2025, Jimmy Greco is immersed in creating his self-titled album, a highly anticipated project featuring talented vocalists. This album, a long-held ambition, will provide a "free creative landscape" to honor past collaborators and showcase a blend of styles influenced by legends like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, James Brown, early Hip Hop, and modern electronic sounds. The official announcement of this release is expected in late 2025.
Jimmy Greco's enduring goal remains to create inspiring and joyful content, empowering fellow artists and creators, and continually connecting with audiences through the power of music and visual storytelling.
